Frequently Asked Questions
Below you will find a sample of Frequently Asked Questions from clients
who are considering Endermologie® to help them.
Cellulite is caused by a combination of factors that include poor lifestyle choices most especially bad diet and lack of exercise, tight clothing, hormonal conditions which can slow down metabolism and render blood circulation inefficient, and heredity. It is estimated that 90% to 95% of women experience cellulite at some point in their lives. Some men also have cellulite but not as much as women.
Cellulite appears because of fat trapped by tough skin fibers just beneath the epidermis. The skin fibers pull down while the fat cells push against the skin. As more fat accumulates, the pushing and pulling worsens.
Cellulite is a term for the formation of lumps and dimples in the skin. Common names for cellulite are orange-peel skin, cottage-cheese skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon. Cellulite can affect both men and women, but it is more common in females, due to the different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue.
Endermologie® is a patented technique involving a mechanized device with two motorized rollers and regulated suction. This non-surgical and non-invasive device creates a symmetrical skin fold, which allows for deep tissue mobilization to occur and results in reduction of cellulite and loss of inches. Endermologie® was the first medical treatment to be FDA approved for cellulite reduction and loss of body circumference.
Endermologie is natural and effective, and targets the connective tissues of the body and face.
No. Endermologie and Liposuction tackle two very different types of fats. Endermologie is useful for cellulite reduction, and body contouring to help improve your appearance. Liposuction is a surgical procedure that involves risk and complications. It does not help with cellulite, but instead works on the deep fat layers to reduce body measurements. Endermologie, unlike liposuction, does not involve breaking through the skin in any way. Some people try Endermologie first and then choose to wait to receive liposuction. We frequently recommend Endermologie in addition to liposuction to get a better and smoother result from liposuction.
It is not a weight loss machine and/or program. However, many clients report being able to lose weight, especially fat weight, more easily while using the machine than they ever could before. You will most likely notice an improvement in skin tone after using the machine. Research has shown that the appearance of stretch marks and loose skin may be greatly improved.
It is highly recommended that you add diet and exercise to the routine you follow while undergoing Endermologie treatments. In most cases, diet and exercise will improve your results. Try to exercise at least 3 times per week 30 minutes for optimal results and better health.
One of the first things you will notice is that your clothes fit looser, your legs and hips feel smoother, and you may experience an increased sense of well-being. You will next notice a definite improvement in skin condition, especially in dimpled cellulite areas. Although the LPG cellulite technique is not a weight loss treatment, you could see a reduction in the circumference of the treated area. Clothes are an excellent way of noticing any changes in the body. The results may vary with different tissue structures, treatment area(s), age, metabolism, and hormonal changes. Proper diet and increased physical activity will certainly improve and help maintain the results. Results are not guaranteed.
Because Endermologie is non-invasive and involves the use of specialized equipment using the unique Mécano-Stimulation™ technique, it helps reduce swollen tissue and the appearance of cellulite. These soothing treatments also help reduce lymphedema, speed up recovery time and can help bring a healthy glow to the skin, further enhancing the liposuction results. It is recommended to start Endermologie treatments several weeks pre-surgery with a minimum of 3-6 sessions. While every patient’s post-surgical needs are unique, Endermologie treatments often begin several weeks following the surgical procedure with a minimum of 12 sessions. Endermologie treatment will soften the fatty tissue – thus facilitating its surgical extraction – and will minimize the risks of skin irregularities. After liposuction, Endermologi
No. There is NO down time. You walk out of the center as you arrived only more relaxed. Yes, there are virtually no side effects. On occasion some mild bruising is possible.
Some clients may need additional treatments depending upon the severity of their cellulite, their weight, and lifestyle habits. On average you can expect anywhere from 16-24 sessions depending on the condition of your skin.
DRINK WATER -Water flushes toxins from your body and improves blood flow. Drink half of your weight in ounces. Example, if you weigh 150 lbs then you will need to drink 75 ounces.
EAT GREEN -Salt, sugar and processed foods enlarge the fat cells present in everyone’s bodies. While no one expects you to live on rabbit food, adding several servings of fresh fruit and vegetables to your daily diet will provide you with additional vitamins and nutrients. Stay away from sugar and fried foods.
EXERCISE -Most people know the important benefits of exercising on a regular basis, but often have unrealistic expectations. Don’t get frustrated if you don’t see immediate results. Stick with it and you’ll have more energy, lose weight, tone your muscles and sleep better. Toned muscles help to smooth the skin.
STOP SMOKING -If you smoke, give it a rest. It’s not doing your skin or that cellulite any favors. Smoking not only affects the texture and tone of your skin, it constricts blood vessels, which contributes to the appearance of cellulite.
